Tips to stay posture healthy at your desk!

Follow these easy tips and you can stay posture happy and healthy at work:

  • Change positions after 30minutes. Static positions for too long stress your spine
  • Movement is important to minimize postural fatigue and discomfort

Achieving healthy Posture:

  • Keeps bones and joints in the correct alignment so that muscles are being used properly
  • Prevents the spine from becoming fixed in abnormal positions
  • Prevent fatigue as muscles are not used as efficiently when they are tired

Benefits of Proper Posture:

  • Reduced rates of muscle strains and overuse injuries (aka repetitive strain injuries)
  • Reduction in backaches and muscular pain
  • Improved appearance and general well-being
  • Increase in energy
  • Decreases the abnormal wearing of joints that could lead to arthritis
  • Reduces STRESS

While Sitting ensure:

  • Always sit in an ergonomic chair
  • Sit with your back straight and shoulders back
  • Push your buttocks to the end of the chair
  • All 3 normal curves (neck, mid back, and lower back) should be preserved
  • Keep shoulders and elbows at 90 degree angles with wrist neutral
  • Keep knees at a right angle and feet flat on the ground
  • Change positions every 30 minutes
